Protocol fee buybacks

Current status

Buyback infrastructure is deployed, but automated protocol-fee buybacks are not live. The current allocation and planned use of fees can change through governance and do not promise the timing, amount, or market effect of any future buyback or burn.

Current status

Abyss DEX has public contracts for protocol-fee distribution and ABYSS buyback-and-burn activity. An automated, recurring buyback program has not launched. Until activity occurs, users should not assume that protocol fees will be collected, exchanged, or burned on any particular schedule.

Current allocation

For eligible WETH protocol fees, the current distribution is:

  • 20% to the developer receiver.
  • 80% to the BuybackBurner allocation.

This allocation is a current governance setting, not an immutable commitment. Governance may change it, including the share directed to buybacks.

Planned use of buyback funds

The initial plan is to use eligible WETH protocol fees to acquire ABYSS in the WETH/ABYSS market and permanently remove the acquired ABYSS from circulation. The initial scope is WETH protocol fees; a policy for other fee assets has not been approved.

Buybacks depend on available fees, governance settings, market liquidity, and trading conditions. They are not a guarantee of ABYSS demand, price appreciation, token supply reduction at a particular time, or returns to token holders.

Public addresses

All addresses below are on Robinhood Chain mainnet, chain ID 4663.

An address identifies an onchain asset or contract; it does not establish token backing, safety, or the outcome of a future buyback. See Contract addresses and Security and risks before relying on these details.
